For gatherings of more than two people, The Coach House is the perfect choice for your stay in Walhalla. Within walking distance to the historical township of Walhalla, it boasts a range of amenities including a games room (complete with billiards table), piano, your choice of books to read, and a fireplace.
The beautiful Stringer's Cottage contains a queen bed, self-contained kitchen, bathroom amenities, and a cosy fireplace to warm yourself in front of in Winter. Comfortable also in the warmer months, it is the perfect base for those who enjoy exploring the natural wonders or local historical points of interest.
The Walhalla Guesthouses were built in the late 1960s to accommodate volunteers who were working to restore the Walhalla Goldfields Railway. The Coach House and Stringer's Cottage has since changed hands several times. The properties have seen many changes and improvements over the years, including a shift to gas and solar power.
As of mid-2022, ownership of The Coach House and Stringer's Cottage has changed hands. Originally from the local area, new owners Steven and Karen are passionate about Walhalla and all that Gippsland has to offer.
The township of Walhalla offers a multitude of activities and sights. From exploring the historic mines and buildings that have been preserved in time to walking the phenomenal ascent to the cricket ground, there is always something to do. Mt. Baw Baw and Mt. St. Gwinear are under an hour's drive for skiing, and there are a multitude of walking tracks.
